Pre Junior

What is Pre Junior?

Pre Junior is the next step after CanSkate for skaters looking for an introduction to the sport of Figure Skating.

When is Pre Junior?

The season runs from October through to March.

Who teaches it?

National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) trained professional coaches teach all of our Pre Junior programs.

What will you learn?

In the Pre Junior program skaters will learn a variety of beginner Figure Skating elements including Turns, Jumps, Spins, and Field Movements.

What can you expect?

The Pre Junior program is a 45 minute fully instructed Intro to Figure Skating program. The Pre Junior session runs in conjunction with the club's CanSkate program.

What do you need to participate?

All you need are lace up skates, a CSA-approved hockey helmet, long pants, mittens, warm sweater or jacket. Dress in layers – it will get warm! Not all skaters in the Pre Junior program require a helmet. Each skater must be assessed by a coach according to the Skate Canada Helmet policy before their helmet can be removed.
